The Girgenti/Barry team broke the recent jinx that the high qualifying team has endured with the win. They qualified first with an eight-game total of 1,863 including a high game of 297. In the cutdown rounds they shot games of 269, 189, 215, 215, 225 and 196 to advance to the final match. They averaged 233 in qualifying and 218 in the cutdown rounds and won $1,000 to be split.
The DeSantis/Daniels duo qualified second with 1,844 and a high game of 279. In the cutdown rounds they had games of 279, 215, 191, 214, 229 and 213 to move to the finals. Averaging 230 in qualifying and 223 in the cutdown rounds helped them split the second prize of $600.
Oakland County winners were Kevin Scott of Ferndale and Terry Haines of Westland cashing for $400; Jeff Roche of Dearborn and Richard Planko of Novi for $300; Dan Mayer of Waterford Township and Jason Neiman of Warren $200; and Lee Snow of Wixom and Terry Mariucci of Canton $160.
