NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

 

Enrico Odorico of Macomb Township won the latest event of the National Senior Bowling Association with a 224-197 victory over Dick Selgo of Archbold , Ohio at Merri Bowl Lanes in Livonia .

 

Odorico qualified eighth and proceeded to defeat Steve Scherle of Canada 232-226, Larry Best of Brownstown 200-187 and Ron Forton of St. Clair Shores on his way to the final match. Odorico took home the top prize of $1,000 and an additional $300 from Lane #1, the manufacturer of the bowling ball he used.

 

Selgo qualified third and cashed for $500. He beat John Ross Jr. of Vassar 245-199, Larry Foote of Detroit 243-235 and Chuck Bork of Bay City 235-225.

 

Selgo and Larry Walker of Garden City recorded the top game of the competition with 279 and Ken Nikkila Jr. of Livonia was the high qualifier however got knocked out in the first round.

 

Phil Horowitz of West Bloomfield and Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills were the only Oakland County cashers for $90 each.

 

The next NSBA tournament will be Aug. 11 at Troy Lanes in Troy .
