NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

 

Larry Franz of Redford prevailed in the National Senior Bowling Association event at Skore Lanes in Taylor with a 258-221 triumph over Bob Caliguire of Wyandotte .

 

Franz took home the top prize of $1,000. He qualified eighth in the field of 73 and proceeded to beat Chuck Bork of Bay City 226-221, Dennis Korkoske of East Lansing 213-182 and Joe Fitzsimmons of Waterford Township en route to the final match.

 

Caliguire qualified 13th and defeated Ed DeBlock of Canada 216-209, Terry Bialkowski of Canada 237-173, Arnie Goldman of Inkster 203-181 and Larry Walker of Garden City 235-213 on his way to the championship match. Caliguire settled for the runner-up prize of $500.

 

Hugo Enriquez of Wayne recorded the top game of 289. Dan Mytty of Livonia and Korkoske tied for the top qualifying spot.

 

The top Oakland kegler was Fitzsimmons who cashed for $250. Others were Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills for $105, Rod Harling of Oak Park $105 and Jerry Owczarski of South Lyon $90.

 

The next NSBA event will be June 9 at Superbowl Lanes in Canton .
