BUDWEISER MICHIGAN MAJORS

 

Jason Howard of Burton and Dan MacLelland of Saginaw won their first Budweiser Michigan Majors title with a 248-166 triumph over top seeded Mason Brantley of Detroit and Gerald Johnson of Detroit at Lodge Lanes in Belleville .

 

The Howard/MacLelland duo won the top prize of $1,500. They were seeded second for the stepladder finals and beat Tony Buck of Redford and Chris Slagter of Jenison 213-177 to reach the finals.

 

The Brantley/Johnson team settled for $900 and received an additional $100 as the top qualifying team.

 

The stepladder finals began with Nunzio Marino of Livonia and Dave Ewald of Macomb defeating Dan Frank of Bay City and Matt Mueller of Bay City 246-215 followed by the Buck/Slagter team beating Marino/Ewald 268-246.

 

The Buck/Slagter team won $800; Marino/Ewald $700 and Frank/Mueller $600.

 

Jeff Grego of Waterford Township and John Nolen of Waterford Township cashed for $500; and Travis Franz of Waterford Township and Troy Franz of White Lake settled for $200 to pace the Oakland County keglers.
