NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

 

Larry Franz of Redford won his second consecutive National Senior Bowling Association title with a 214-199 victory over Ed DeBlock of Canada at Superbowl Lanes in Canton .

 

Franz took home the top prize of $1,000. He qualified fourth and gained the finals with triumphs over Hal Scales of Riverview 237-200, Lloyd McNabb of Warren 252-148 and Jim Richardson of Toledo 258-247.

 

DeBlock settled for $500 after qualifying 11th and beating Arnie Goldman of Inkster 268-257, Joe Buffa of Macomb 262-211 and Dave Eatmon of Ferndale 186-184.

 

Richard Kurt of St. Clair Shores recorded the top game of the competition with 290 and Mike Abbey of Jackson was the top qualifier.

 

Eatmon was the top Oakland County casher for $210. Others were Phil Horowitz of West Bloomfield for $140, Mark Hatchigian of Novi $90 and Joe Fitzsimmons of Waterford Township $90.

 

The next NSBA tournament will be July 14 at Merri Bowl Lanes in Livonia .
