CAN-AM BAKER DOUBLES

 

Tim Hoffmeyer of Fraser and Justin Neiman of Warren teamed up to win the latest Can-Am Baker Doubles tournament at Drakeshire Lanes in Farmington Hills with a 279-131 win over Cole Muncy of Livonia and Jeremy Brady of Livonia .

 

The Hoffmeyer/Neiman duo qualified fifth with an eight-game total of 1,840 and a high game of 279. In the cutdown rounds they shot games of 254, 289, 237, 268, 258 and 278 to advance to the finals. They split the top prize check of $1,000.

 

The Muncy/Brady team qualified eighth with 1,796. Games of 233, 229, 194, 204, 206 and 244 in the cutdown rounds propelled them to the championship match. They settled for $600.

 

Ken Wyatt of Sterling Heights and Bob Rozycki of Allen Park were the top qualifiers with 1,933. The top game was 299 recorded by Jason Pretari of Clawson and Brad Dracka of Trenton .

 

Oakland County was represented by Chris Patterson of Macomb and Jeff Suma of Auburn Hills who split $340; and the Pretari/Dracka team who split $120.

 

The upcoming Can-Am Baker events will be April 14 at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights , followed by April 28 at Supberbowl in Canton and concluding with the Grand Finals on May 19 at Wayne Bowl in Wayne .

BOWLING FUNDRAISER

 

Hazel Park Bowl in Hazel Park will host a fundraiser for PBA Champion Kurt Pilon of Warren on Sunday, April 29.

 

Pilon, owner of Maximum Potential Pro Shops at Hazel Park Bowl and Harbor Lanes in St. Clair Shores , will undergo heart surgery on April 9 and the proceeds will be used to help defray some of Pilon’s medical expenses.

 

The cost is $20 and includes three games of bowling, mystery games, 50/50 raffles and a sports memorabilia auction.
