MICHIGAN STATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

 

The Michigan State USBC BA Tournament has ended in Flint and many local teams and bowlers have cracked the top 10 in the unofficial standings.

 

In first place in the handicap and actual team event was the Ansara Team #3, captained by Lew Ansara of Farmington Hills , with an actual score of 3,654 and handicap score of 3,702. Members of the team were Eddie Grace III of Howell, Robert Rozycki of Allen Park , Harold Sullins of Chesterfield Township , Brian Hatcher of Roseville and Kenneth Wyatt of Sterling Heights .

 

Ansara captained another team, the Ansara Restaurant Group #1 team, which finished in fifth place in the actual standings with 3,603 and seventh place in handicap with 3,603. Joining Grace, Hatcher and Wyatt on the team were Nunzio Marino of Livonia and Ryan Wilson of Garden City.

 

Finishing in sixth place in handicap was the Millennium Manufacturing team captained by Robert Tinker Jr. of Hazel Park . Their handicap score was 3,607. Joining Tinker were Joseph Welsh of Warren, Kenneth Koch II of Rochester Hills, Daniel Briesch of St. Clair Shores and Anthony Grabinski of Macomb .

 

Team Extreme, captained by Floyd Speer of Waterford Township , place eighth with 3,598. The team also included Lawrence Hess of Clarkston, James Kelley of Waterford Township , Jody Paradise of Clarkston and James Boren Jr. of Warren .

 

Ronald Shooks of White Lake and Steven Moran of Waterford Township took the lead in handicap doubles early in the tournament with a score of 1,626 and it held up for the rest of the tournament.

 

Dario Lopez of Lake Orion finished tied for fifth in handicap singles with 838.

 

In handicap all-events Alan Pittman of Clarkston shot 2,307 good for a tie for seventh place.

 

Next year’s tournament will begin January 5, 2008 in Westland with team event at Oak Lanes in Westland and doubles and singles at Westland Bowl.
