METRO DETROIT USBC TOURNAMENT RESULTS

 

The Women’s and Open Championships of the Metro Detroit USBC Association have concluded for the 2006-07 season at Shore Lanes in St. Clair Shores and Century Bowl in Waterford Township respectively with many Oakland County keglers faring well.

 

Team E, captained by Floyd Speer of Waterford Township , captured the handicap team event at the MDUSBC Open Championship with a handicap score of 3,819. Other members of the team were Jonathon Chamberlain of Waterford Township , Jody Paradis of Clarkston, Jeffery Shears of Clarkston and Jamie Peters of Waterford Township . The team also recorded the top actual team score of 3,585.

 

Francis Consitt of Pinckney and Henry Fallot Jr. of Northville topped the handicap doubles with 1,617, while Michael Kereluk of Shelby Township and John Wesley Sr. of Washington had the top scratch doubles score with 1,568.

 

Daniel Kelsey of Novi led the scratch and handicap singles with 833 and 895 respectively.

 

David Skillman of Waterford Township recorded the top handicap all-events score with 2,366 and Jerry Owczarski of South Lyon the top actual all-events with 2,259.

 

In Division I of the MDUSBC Women’s Championship team event the top team was Fantastic Ladies II of Detroit with a handicap score of 3,639. Members of the team were team captain Phylesha Walters of Detroit , Rosalind Denard of Southfield , Tina Johnson-Warren of Southfield , Ashley Denard of Southfield and Karen Whitmore of Detroit .

 

The 4U2NV team topped Division II with a handicap score of 3,630 which included team captain Charlotte Brown of Oak Park , Charmaine Montgomery of Detroit , Yvette Booker of Detroit , Phyllis Johnson of Detroit and Jennifer Williams of Detroit .

 

Division III was led by Friends & Relatives #6 with a handicap score of 3,599 captained by Donna Roberts of Taylor . Other members were Jaclyn Palmer of Dearborn Heights , Tara Fleek of Dearborn Heights , Katherine Jones of Detroit and Kathy-Jo Freeman of Romulus .

 

The top actual team was Topshelf Bowling & Trophy with a scratch score of 3,311. Team captain Shelley Zarick of Macomb was joined by Kristy Hatcher of Clinton Township , Mona Edgemon of Macomb , Angela Wilt of Westland and Michelle Ewald of Clinton Township .

 

Marissa Emerson of Chesterfield Township and Debra Emerson of Chesterfield Township topped by Division I Doubles with a handicap score of 1,539. Cathy Czarnecki of St. Clair Shores and Lisa Sayranian of Mt. Clemens won Division II with 1,605 and Eileen Lowe of Utica and Debbie Eldridge of Macomb led Division III with 1,519. Kristy Hatcher and Michelle Ewald topped the scratch doubles with 1,378.

 

In handicap singles Brook Grzadzinski of New Baltimore took the Division I crown with 852, Lakesha Phillips of Oak Park topped Division II with 821 and Jennifer Ouvry of Ferndale won Division III with 788. Virginia Austin of Detroit topped the scratch division with 748.

 

In handicap all-events Yolanda Skinner of Detroit won Division I with 2,408, Kimberly Gibala of Sterling Heights took Division II with 2,238 and Jennifer Ouvry led Division III with 2,466.

 

Rosalind Denard of Southfield took the senior handicap all-events with 2,223.

 

Michelle Ewald of Clinton Township captured the Division I actual all-events with 2,149, Kimberly Gibala of Sterling Heights won Division II with 1,704 and Jennifer Ouvry of Ferndale Division III with 1,626.

 

A complete prize listing will be posted on www.mdusbc.com during the week of May 7. Prize checks for both events will be mailed to the team captains during the week of May 14.
