OLD TIMERS

 

Calling all Old Timers. The 77th Annual Old Timers Bowling Tournament and Party will be Saturday, Nov. 24 at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park .

 

There will be two squads, 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The 1 p.m. squad will be followed by the banquet.

 

The cost to bowl is $9 and an additional $9 for the banquet.

 

This event is for men only who have been associated with bowling at least 25 years and must be at least 40 years old.

 

Every bowler will receive a gift. Additionally the top three finishers in seven different age groups plus the overall champion will be the highest three game total among the bowlers who are least 50 years old will receive awards.

 

There will be over 500 participants in this event.

MIXED TOURNAMENT

 

The Metro Detroit USBC Association Mixed tournament concluded this past weekend at Cloverlanes in Livonia .

 

Leading the way is Stephanie’s Screamin Demons, captained by Stephanie Bieganski of Warren , with a handicap total of 3,026. Leading the team was Jason Neiman of Warren with an 830 series on games of 254-279-297. Other members and their scores are William Neiman of Warren with 673, Theresa Neiman of Warren 553 and Bieganski with 514.

 

The second place team is the Turbo Grips #11 team with 2,930. Brad Smyth of St. Clair Shores captained and led the team with a 725 series. Justin Neiman of Warren (714), Tiffany Stanbrough of Oklahoma City (653) and Khrista Merriman of South Lyon (568) were the other team members.

 

While the entry count was disappointing the tournament committee will review and revise the event for 2008.

 

The results are unofficial at this point and will be finalized and prize checks issued within 30 days.
