NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

Jim Rock of Kalamazoo won the National Senior Bowling Association event at Skore Lanes in Taylor with a narrow 212-208 triumph over Rick Giraud of Taylor .

Rock qualified third and proceeded to beat Jim Burton of Novi 231-178, Dave Tulak of Taylor 255-218 and Bob Edwards of Lima , Ohio 236-168. Rock took home the top prize check of $1,000.

Giraud, bowling in his first NSBA event, cashed for the $500 runner-up prize. After qualifying 15^th he defeated Ed DeBlock of Canada 244-204, Phil Horowitz of West Bloomfield 248-215, Dan Mytty of Livonia and Ron LeChevalier of Livonia 216-205 to advance to the finals.

Joe Buffa of Macomb Township recorded the top game with 297 and LeChevalier was the top qualifier.

Oakland County cashers were Horowitz for $110, Burton $110, Dave Eatmon of Ferndale $110, Len Kersten of Clarkston $110, Mark Hatchigian of Novi $110 and Joe Fitzsimmons of Waterford Township $90.

The next NSBA event will be June 14 at Colonial Lanes in Ann Arbor .
