JUST
ANOTHER 300 GAME
Each week in this column you’ll see a variety of 300 games and 800 series recorded by local bowlers in local bowling centers. All of them, in their own right, have a story behind them. Some are the very first the player had shot, while others have happened so many times that it becomes just another good score.
On
Tuesday, Nov. 17 in the F Troop league at Airway Lanes in
Bruce
Worden of
He was having chest pains and finally after much urging from his wife Jackie, he visited a local urgent care clinic. From there he immediately went to the hospital where it was discovered that he had three blocked arteries, one was 100 percent blocked, while the others were less.
After receiving two stents he was back on the lanes in less than two weeks and bowling the perfect game in less than three weeks.
His doctor told him that better than 80 percent of patients facing the same circumstances never make it to the hospital let alone survive and he walked around for four days before it was discovered.
Congratulations Bruce on your perfect game, but most of all for surviving and being able to accomplish the feat.
