DETROIT BOWLING HALL OF FAME

Congratulations to two local bowlers who were inducted into the Detroit Bowling Hall of Fame this past Sunday at DeCarlo’s Banquet Center in Warren .

Ed Austreng of Waterford Township and Jan Willson of Clarkston joined five others entering the prestigious hall.

Austreng earned his honor in the Veteran’s Category with a lifetime of bowling accomplishments. He was introduced by his son Jeff Austreng, who was inducted into the hall in 2008. Good natured ribbing highlighted the introduction before turning serious.

Willson served as the Pontiac Women’s Bowling Association secretary for over 25 years and also served on the Michigan State Women’s Bowling Association for several years. Her dedication to women’s bowling in the area is legendary and she deserved the honor and was truly humbled by the occasion. She was introduced by MDUSBC President Libbi Fletcher.
