MICHIGAN STATE USBC WBA STANDINGS

 

The Michigan State Women’s Tournament is winding down in Flint at Colonial Lanes and Richfield Bowl with several local teams and bowlers residing in the top 10.

 

There are three divisions in each event based on average with Division 1 being 170 and over; Division 2 averages 140 to 169; and Division 3 is 139 average and under.

 

In Division 1 team event the Ladies Nite Out 2 team is in second place with a handicap total of 3,663. Members of the team are Debbie Busch, Nichole Busch and Michelle Busch of Waterford Township ; Connie Pace of Clarkston and Kathy Gee. Other teams in the top 10 with local ties are Julie’s Barber Studio in third place with Diane Maluzhinsky of Troy; Patti Bryans of Warren; Maura Mittelstadt, Karen Wehba and Susan Lauderbach of Clinton Township. Fantastic’s Bowling Club IV in fourth place with Rosalind Denard and Tanya Colvin of Southfield; Ashley Denard of Warren; and Karen Whitmore and Eboni Ackles of Detroit. In sixth place is the Larke Wood Floor Service #3 team with Kathleen Dowdy of Royal Oak; Ellen Miriani of Waterford Township; Mary Lewis of Macomb; and Theresa Neiman and Susan Elliott of Warren.

 

The Fab Five team paces the Division 2 team event with 3,685. Nicole Newman and Deborah Newman of White Lake ; Heather Johnson of Waterford Township ; Debra Rohde of Wixom and Cindy Poisson of West Bloomfield were members of the team. Ladies Nite Out 3 holds down the fifth spot with team members Kelly King, Robin Morgan and Carrie Lomax of Waterford Township; Marilynn Dalton of White Lake and Frances Klobnock of Sterling Heights. The Unpredictables team sits in sixth position and includes Ellen Schumborg of Clawson, Sheryl Apple of Roseville, Brandi Stipp of Inkster and Karen Binder and Helen Ballentine of Warren.

 

In Division 3 team event the Diedrich Painting team with Beth Diedrich, Angela Sundria and Erica Chastain of Highland; and Laura Grodzicki and Stacy Helzer of Waterford Township residing in fourth place with 3,585. In seventh place is the Map, Inc. team with Jennie Kaufman, Marilyn Chambless and Ruth Frankel of Commerce Township; Jan Gracely of Highland; and Crystal France of Holly.

 

Nichole Busch and Michelle Busch of Waterford Township are in second place in Division 1 Doubles with 1,579. Others in the top 10 are Crystal Brown and Yolanda Ali-Brown of Inkster (third); Ashley Denard of Warren and Karen Whitmore of Detroit (fifth); Mardi Swiss of Shelby Township and Heather Avery of Metamora (sixth); and Christine Bator of Warren and Felicia Goll of St. Clair Shores (ninth).

 

In Division 2 Doubles Laura Namet of Farmington and Judy Nutter of Redford are third with 1,578.

 

Megan Verbeke and Deanna Baker of Waterford Township hold down 10th place in Division 3 Doubles with 1,516.

 

Division 1 Singles shows Jodi Witchelhouse of Brownstown Township in second place with 873, Kari Pearcy of Chesterfield Township third, Crystal Brown of Inkster sixth and Robin Geary-Ross in ninth.

 

India Scott-Coletta of Sterling Heights leads Division 2 Singles with 863, followed by Roxanne Tances of Harrison Township in second, Olivia Wanks of Redford in fifth, Karla Harrington of Oak Park sixth, Pamela Caldwell of Romulus seventh and Gina Sweet of Shelby Township eighth.

 

Janet Williams of Royal Oak paced Division 3 Singles with 831.

 

Susan Elliott of Warren resides in third place in Division 1 All-Events with 2,361. Others in the top ten are Debra Fader of Chesterfield Township (fourth), Kari Pearcy of Chesterfield Township (seventh) and JoAnne Manthey of Westland (10th).

 

In Division 2 All-Events Roxanne Tances of Harrison Township is the leader with 2,451. Nichole Busch of Waterford Township is third, Karla Harrington of Oak Park fifth and Crystal Niedermeyer of Plymouth seventh.

 

Megan Verbeke of Waterford Township is in ninth place in Division 3 All-Events with 2,332 closely followed by Rachael Nelder of Oxford .

 

Nancy Dietrich of Clinton Township has bowled the lone 300 game in the tournament.

 

The tournament ends May 16. The 2011 tournament will be held in Westland .

BOWLING ON TV THIS WEEKEND

 

The PBA Women’s Series Showdown will be telecast at 1 p.m. on Sunday on ESPN from the International Training and Research Center at USBC Headquarters in Arlington , Tex.
