The Detroit All-Star Traveling League, sponsored by Rip 10 Enterprises, recently completed their 75th season with the Eastridge Insurance / Storm / Roto Grip team winning the Cup Roll Off at three different bowling centers over three consecutive nights.
The championship team included Craig Nidiffer, Tim Bishop, Larry Walker, Jeff Roche, George Juszczyk and Harry Sullins. The team averaged 1,151 and won nine of 12 games placing first by 194 pins over the Plaza Lanes team.
The league bowls a winter and spring season with 17 weeks in each season and concludes with the Cup Roll Off with the top six teams from the entire season.
Financial Strategies / Ansara’s Restaurant Group won the winter season by two games over Plaza Lanes. Members of the team were Lew Ansara, Lisa Bishop, Jeff Hicks, Ken Kossick, Steve Mrakitsch, Chris Nielson, Kevin Trumbull and Ken Wyatt.
Plaza Lanes captured the spring season by one game over the Eastridge team. Bowling for the Plaza Lanes team were Eddie Grace, Jason Johnson, Joe Krajenke, Jerry Penxa, Randy Smith, Dave Tulak, Randy Warnken and Nick Wissinger.
During the 34 weeks of competition the 12 teams in the league averaged 218.3. Eleven series of 800 or better were recorded with Joe Krajenke topping the list with 844. Thirty-two perfect 300 games were rolled by 24 different players. Jeff Roche notched three of them to top the league.
