MDUSBC QUEENS

Jennifer Churchill of Windsor won the Metro Detroit USBC Association Queens title on Sunday with a 245-171 triumph over Jennifer Bator of Warren at Mayflower Lanes in Redford .

Churchill qualified 11^th with a six-game total of 1,272 on games of 223-205-187-229-239-189. In match play she defeated Erica Ewald of Sterling Heights 220-207, Michelle Ewald of Clinton Township 204-202 and Melissa Klug of Macomb in a two-frame rolloff 39-28 after tying with 202 en route to the championship match. She averaged 214.3 for 10 games of tournament competition.

Bator qualified ninth with 1,287 on games of 158-236-186-203-237-267. She beat 2007 champion Novella Daniels of Detroit 211-200, top qualifier Sara Litteral of Eastpointe 244-225 and 2010 runner-up Nicole Edwards of Sterling Heights 205-203 on her way to the final match. She averaged 211.8.

Top qualifier Sara Litteral shot 1,462 including games of 279-229-257-247-238-212. She finished fifth for $100.

Churchill took home the top check of $900 plus a tiara pendent necklace compliments of Chinn Jewelry. Bator settled for $450.

Defending champion Aleksandra Hudak of Taylor finished just out of the money in 18^th place.
