Welcome!!!!  

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the inaugural season of the Metro Detroit USBC Association.  This is a historic time for bowling in the Detroit area and you are an integral part of it.

The Metro Detroit Bowling Association was formed as a result of a merger of the Detroit Women’s Bowling Association, the Greater Detroit Bowling Association, the Greater Detroit YABA, and the Pontiac Women’s Bowling Association. 

On  January 15th, 2006, at an organizational meeting attended by members from each of these organizations, the Metro Detroit USBC was formed, its bylaws approved, and its officers, board of directors and youth committee was elected.   This monumental meeting has created the largest local association in the United States Bowling Congress, servicing over 80,000 members, and over 80 bowling centers in the metropolitan Detroit area.

Since January, the Board of Directors of the MDUSBC have met each month creating an organization that will serve its league officers, members, and also will work in conjunction with its proprietors to build programs to grow the sport of bowling.  As a single membership organization, men, women and youth will now belong to one organization.  This is best for the sport of bowling.

The success of this organization will depend upon the commitment of its Board of Directors, but more importantly, the members who volunteer to assist in programs, tournaments, and events.  Whether it is our lane representative program, working tournaments, selling merchandise, or helping out at our planned events, you can be a very important part of this association.  If you would like to step up to the challenge, please call our new office in Lathrup Village at 248-443-BOWL(2695) and let us know how you would like to help.

There are many new and exciting changes happening in the world of bowling in the Bowling Capital of the World….stay tuned.  …something wonderful is happening in Detroit !!!!
