METRO DETROIT USBC PRESENTS LOCAL BOWLERS WITH AWARDS

 

MDUSBC President Libbi Fletcher and Century Bowl Association Representative John Rossetto presented the Space Care team their awards for second place in the nation in the five-men team game category Thursday night at Century Bowl in Waterford Township .

 

The Space Care team, bowling in the Thursday Men’s House league at Century Bowl, shot a Michigan state record score of 1,384 on March 23, 2006, which also eclipsed the MDUSBC record.

 

In their record game Harold Hughes of Auburn Hills and team captain Richard Deatherage of Clarkston each bowled 300. Alan Pittman of Clarkston (278), Gary Banghart of Clarkston (227) and Christopher Simonson of Howell (279) rounded out the team.

 

The top five-men team game in the nation during the 2005-06 season was 1,391.

 

The Metro Detroit USBC Association became effective May 1, 2006 as a result of the merger of the Detroit Women’s Bowling Association, Greater Detroit Bowling Association, Greater Detroit Youth Association and the Pontiac Women’s Bowling Association serving nearly 90,000 adult and youth bowlers in the Metropolitan Detroit market.
