METRO DETROIT USBC PRESENTS LOCAL BOWLER WITH AWARD

 

MDUSBC Youth Committee Chairperson Aileen Hnidy and Youth Committee member and Sunnybrook Lanes coach Laura Dembek recently presented Ryan Van Hecke of Sterling Heights with an award from the United States Bowling Congress.

The 20-year-old Van Hecke was awarded a plaque for accomplishing the highest Sport Bowling average in the nation for a male youth. He averaged 205 in the Dan Ottman Summer Sport League at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights .

The Metro Detroit USBC Association became effective May 1, 2006 as a result of the merger of the Detroit Women’s Bowling Association, Greater Detroit Bowling Association, Greater Detroit Youth Association and the Pontiac Women’s Bowling Association serving nearly 90,000 adult and youth bowlers in the Metropolitan Detroit market.
