Mark Martin, Association Manager for Metro Detroit USBC was elected to the USBC Board of Directors on Saturday, May 1st, at the USBC Annual meeting in Reno , Nevada .

 

A bowler for over 40 years, Mark has been an active volunteer at the local, state, and national level for most of his life.  Mark served on the ABC Board of Directors from 2002-2004 and was on the Greater Detroit Bowling Association Board for 20 years.  Mark served nationally on the ABC Board of Directors, as well as the USBC Strategic Planning Committee and is currently serving on the Michigan State USBC BA Board of Directors. 

 

Before becoming the Association Manager of the MDUSBC four years ago, Mark spent ten years as the Executive Director of the GDBA and three years as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Detroit Women’s Bowling Association.

 

Most bowlers have seen Mark at local and state tournaments, ensuring their success, such as the local and state Master’s tournaments, the local Queen’s, Youth and more.  He has been instrumental in hosting the USBC Youth Championships and Jr. Gold tournaments, as well as the PBA World Series of Bowling held here last year.  Wherever there is bowling in the Detroit area, Mark is there ready to work and assist in anyway possible, including serving on the Joint Marketing Committee with Western Wayne County USBC and the Southeast Michigan Bowling Centers Association.

 

Mark will be joining fellow Detroiter Libbi Fletcher on the USBC Board of Directors when his term begins on August 1st.
